Talking with my mom, Karen Rhodes, on The Second Cup Show on WCMY Radio was one of the hardest interviews I’ve ever done. Reliving my breast cancer journey — especially with my mom, who walked through every step of it with me — brought up a lot of emotions.

But I wanted to have this conversation and share my story to help others. If being honest about the hard parts can make even one person feel seen, understood, or a little less alone, then it’s absolutely worth having conversations like this.
